چکیده: Abstract: With the increasing development of aerodynamics, various ways have been used to increase the aerodynamic performance of airfoils. One of the ways to increase aerodynamic performance or increase maneuverability is to control the flow on the airfoil. In this research, the passive control (suction) of the airfoil and its effect on increasing the aerodynamic performance of the airfoil have been investigated. In this research, a three-equation model of k-kl-omega shear stress transfer equation for turbulent flow on NACA0012 airfoil in Fluent software environment has been used. In this research, Fluent software based on code written based on RANS method has been used to simulate the flow. The simulation results have been investigated in both central and edge suction modes. According to the results, in the general case, central suction is a better choice due to its greater effect on the lift-to-drag ratio. As the length of the suction jet increases in the central part, the lift coefficient increases more than the drag. It should be noted that for angles less than 16 degrees, using a suction jet will not have much effect on the aerodynamic performance of the airfoil and is not cost-effective
