چکیده: Abstract: Bridges are important structures that are built across the river and provide relation of roads. Therefore, the correct design and run of this structure is very important. scouring phenomenon is one of the most important and effective factors in bridge structure failure. due to collision of the flow with bridge piers and form complex eddy downward, Erosion occurs in the river bed and creating holes around the bridge piers. knowing this phenomenon and forecast its effect plays a needed role in designing bridges. In general, a lot of research has been done in relation to the scouring of bridge pier, but there is little research in the field of the present research. This research studies the changes in the phenomenon of scouring in the double combinations of the bridge pier by changing the distance between the pieres from 1d to 6d and the angle of their placement relative to the flow from 90 to 0. In each test, the pieres are installed in the flume with a suitable position relative to each other, and after the test is completed, the changes in the topography of the bed are recorded using a point depth gauge. The obtained results show that at constant distances 1d and 2d between the pieres, by reducing the placement angle with the flow, the parameters of the maximum scour depth, the length of the scour and its width for both holes upstream and downstream decreases. In fact, with the pieres moving away from a transverse direction (90 degrees angle to the direction of flow), the erosion power of the The compressed horseshoes eddies formed between the pieres are reduced. At the constant distances 3d and 4d between the pieres, with the increase of the placement angle in the upstream hole, the maximum scour depth and the length of the scour decreases and its width increased. In these distances, the maximum scour depth and length parameters for the downstream hole first increased and then decreased, as well as the width of the downstream hole at 3d and 4d distances have been increased. For distances more than 4 times the diameter of the piers, whith increasing the placement angle in the upstream hole, the maximum scour depth and length of the scour decreased and its width increased. In these distances (5d and 6d), with the increase of the placement angle, the process of variation the parameters The maximum depth and length in the downstream hole first increased and then decreased and the hole width parameter decreased. With the increase of the placement angle and Tend of the downstream pier to the back of the upstream pier, the trend of changes in the maximum height of the sedimentation has been ascending for all distances
