چکیده: Abstract: Reliability of project completion time significantly affects the thinking of project managers and the way of implementation. So far, many researches have been conducted on the reliability evaluation of project completion time. But these researches have been carried out with the assumption of ignoring the effect of correlation between activities. So far, no research has been done on whether this neglect is accurate enough or not. Therefore, this research examines the effect of correlation between activities on the accuracy of the probability assessment of the project completion time. In order to investigate the effect of correlation between activities, this research develops an analytical model and evaluates a real project and three hypothetical projects of different sizes. The reason for choosing three projects with different dimensions is to investigate the effect of the size of the scheduling network on the evaluation of the reliability of the project completion time by considering the effect of correlation between activities. The proposed solution in three main approaches: (a) combining the effect of correlation between network paths on the reliability of the project completion time, (b) providing a solution to accurately estimate the reliability of the project completion time and (c) considering the correlation effect between Activities are developed based on the reliability of project completion time. In this research, the Delphi survey method is used to extract effective risk factors in construction projects. The findings show that the more the number of activities and the number of routes of the scheduling network increases (the bigger the project), the effect of correlation between activities on the reliability of project completion time decreases. In other words, the effect of correlation between activities cannot be ignored in all projects. The proposed method can be used to evaluate the reliability of the project completion time. The results obtained from the presented method are compared with the results of the Monte Carlo method to evaluate the accuracy and speed. The results show that the proposed method with high accuracy and close to the Monte Carlo method reduces the calculation time by reducing the number of network paths. Using this method, project managers can determine the reliability of the project completion time with greater confidence and use it as a quick and accurate tool in planning, rescheduling and project control
