چکیده: Abstract: Tow component concretes containing silica fume and air entrained agent (AEA) are widely studied during the last decades and their durability are improved Considerably but this types of concretes have some defects. For example the decreasing process of gaining strength and the decreasing of workability are some of the disadvantages of silica fume containing concretes, respectively and AEA concretes. In addition, this question remains that which on of these two materials (silica fume and AEA) is more effective in improving the durability of concrete. The purpose of the present research is to study the effect of simultaneous and separate application of air entrainment additives and silica fume on the process of gaining strength and de-icer salt scaling resistance. In general, 12 defferent mix designs in two different ratios of water to cementitious materials of 0.38 and 0.5 are produced. They include two component conctetes containing 5 and 10 percent silica fume, AEA concrets containing 5 percent of air enterainment agent, and concretes containing 5% of air entrained agent and 5 and 10% of silica fume. The amount of slump is considerend 75±15 for all mixing according to ASTM C672. The compressive strength, tensile strength, water absorbtion, scaling due to salt frost scaling are measured. The results showed that the mixing containing silica fume and air entrained agent have more durability rathen than refrence mixing. The addition of silica fume improved compressive strength, tensile strength and salt scaling resistance. Also, the addithion of 5% of AEA improved durability of concrete Furthermore, the simultaneous addition of silica fume and AEA improved durability of concrete considerably and prevented the decreasing of the strength of concrete.
