چکیده: Abstract: Software-defined networks have recently found broad applications for optimizing bandwidth and traffic management. In these networks, the controller is vulnerable to denial of service attacks and the attacker imposes heavy processing on the controller by continuously injecting false request packets. This behavior ultimately leads to the controller being inaccessible and to the network not being served by ordinary users. In this article, we present an attack detection mechanism based on Bloom Filter for software-defined networks. A Bloom Filter is a data structure designed to quickly and memory-efficiently test whether an element is present in a set. The evaluation results confirm that detection method can effectively detect well-known DNS amplification attacks by operating at a very low error rate with efficient memory usage and low overhead.
