چکیده: Abstract: Abstract: In recent decades, the rapid growth in the production of scholarly texts in the field of consciousness has intensified the need for automated and systematic methods for analyzing and extracting knowledge from these materials. Research related to consciousness exhibits considerable diversity in terms of research objectives, applied tools and methodologies, geographical distribution, and temporal trends, making manual analysis of such a large body of information impractical. In this context, the application of text mining and data mining techniques can facilitate the identification of latent patterns and overarching trends within this research domain. In this study, a corpus of scholarly articles on consciousness published between 1996 and 2023 was examined with the aim of categorizing scientific research and analyzing the developmental trends of countries worldwide in this field. The data included information on the country of research, year of publication, research objectives, and the tools and methods employed in each article. Following the preprocessing stage, the extraction and labeling of research objectives and methodological tools were conducted using a zero-shot classification approach. The resulting outputs were then analyzed across countries, time periods, and research clusters. The findings indicate that the majority of studies in the field of consciousness have been conducted with foundational/theoretical and socio-cultural objectives, whereas test and validation of paranormal phenomena, experience-focused studies, and applied/intervention-oriented objectives constitute a smaller proportion of the literature. In terms of research tools and methodologies, experimental methods emerged as the dominant approach, complemented by experience reports, qualitative/descriptive methods, and psychological tools. Furthermore, country-level analysis revealed that countries with higher research output not only produced a greater number of publications but also exhibited greater diversity in research objectives and methodological tools, following more clearly defined trajectories of scholarly development. Overall, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state and evolutionary trends of scientific research in the field of consciousness. The results may serve as a foundation for guiding future research directions, informing science policy, and identifying emerging research pathways within this domain.
