چکیده: Abstract: Metamaterials are materials that are primarily engineered to achieve specific properties. These materials generally possess characteristics that are unattainable or at least unusual in natural or traditional materials. The most studied properties in structural metamaterials include negative Poisson’s ratio, negative thermal expansion coefficient, and negative linear compressibility. Metamaterials exhibit superior and uncommon properties, including Young's modulus, density, energy absorption, acoustics, heat transfer, smart materials, and negative Poisson's ratio. Auxetic materials, a type of metamaterial, have a negative Poisson’s ratio. Metamaterials were initially used mainly for optical, electromagnetic, and electronic applications, but recent advancements in structural metamaterials have drawn researchers' attention to their mechanical/thermomechanical behavior. Many auxetic materials have a cellular structure, which determines their overall properties. The main objective of this thesis is to investigate the geometric parameters and optimize them for tensile and compressive load-bearing capacities. Auxetic cores with missing ribs are examined using Hitler and spline geometry. In the compression test, the energy absorption and specific energy absorption were evaluated based on two different criteria. It should be noted that in the tensile test samples, the peak force and the corresponding displacement were also examined.
