چکیده: Abstract: The main objective of this study was to develop an integrated mathematical model for production scheduling and vehicle routing in the pharmaceutical supply chain. The importance of this topic arises from the fact that optimizing drug production and distribution processes has a direct impact on the quality of healthcare services and patient satisfaction. In this research, the mathematical model of the problem was first formulated and then solved for small-scale instances using the Simplex method in the GAMS environment. The results demonstrated that the exact approach can provide optimal and reliable solutions for small problems; however, for large-scale cases, the computational time increased significantly. To overcome this limitation, the Lagrangian relaxation approach combined with the subgradient algorithm was employed. Findings revealed that this approach not only reduced solution time considerably in large-scale problems but also provided near-optimal or, in some cases, even better solutions compared to the exact solver. Ultimately, this research emphasizes the importance of combining exact and approximate approaches and paves the way for developing decision-support tools to enhance pharmaceutical supply chain management.
