چکیده: Abstract: With the increasing global demand for clean energy, the use of photovoltaic (PV) systems as an efficient option for electricity generation in countries with high solar potential, including Iran, has expanded significantly. However, one of the most important challenges in operating solar power plants in arid and semi-arid regions is the phenomenon of dust deposition and accumulation on panel surfaces, which can reduce energy production efficiency by up to 25%. This phenomenon, by creating shading, increasing surface temperature, and reducing radiation transmission, leads to a significant decline in electrical efficiency. The aim of this research is to identify and monitor the amount of dust accumulated on the panels of photovoltaic solar farms using Sentinel-2 and Landsat-8 satellite data in a remote sensing environment. For this purpose, satellite images from the period of January 2020 to January 2021, after performing radiometric and atmospheric corrections, were processed using spectral indices such as NDSI (Normalized Difference Soil Index), RNDSI (Refined Soil Index), and DBSI (Dust Brightness and Structure Index). To examine the thermal effects of the dust phenomenon, the index
