چکیده: Abstract: Today, high-rise buildings have become one of the most important aspects of construction in the world. The structural skeleton of a tall building is at the first look like a plank that is fixed to the ground at the end. In addition to having sufficient flexural and shear strength, the structure must have full lateral bearing capacity. With increasing height due to the presence of lateral loads, the selection of a suitable structural system becomes necessary.Although concrete-steel composite columns have been widely used in buildings and other structures for more than 50 years and this trend is increasing all over the world, but these columns are still considered as reinforced concrete and steel columns in terms of design and Cooperation between concrete and steel is ignored.Effective and efficient use of composite columns requires a different approach to concrete and steel columns to enter the design process of these columns. In this research, the performance of this type of column in high-rise buildings has been investigated. In this research, the behavior of 15, 25 and 35 storey tall buildings with composite columns and shear walls has been investigated.Etabs 2015 software was used to analyze and design the buildings and the design was done by LRFD method. After spectral and dynamic analysis of linear time history under Bam, Tabas and Manjil earthquakes records, the effect of composite columns on lateral deformation of floors, relative lateral deformation of floors, base shear and seismic weight in these buildings and with similar structures with steel columns Has been comparedThe results show the proper performance of these columns compared to steel columns. Studies in spectral analysis and linear time history have shown that use of composite columns in 15-storey buildings is between 42 to 50 percent, in 25-storey buildings between 11 to 38 percent and in 35-storey buildings between 11 to 48 percent Reduces the lateral deformation of the floors compared to steel columns. Also, the use of composite columns reduces the dimensions of the columns and thus reduces the consumption of steel.According to spectral dynamic analysis and linear time history, the base shear in structures with composite columns and structures with steel columns does not change much, which is due to keeping the lateral system of lateral structures constant.
