چکیده: Abstract: The transportation sector is one of the most common consumers of fossil fuels worldwide. Therefore, to reduce the effects of carbon dioxide emissions and reduce the use of environmentally unfriendly traditional energy sources, the electrification of the transportation system, such as the development of electric vehicles (EV), has become very important. A well-developed charging infrastructure is required for flawless deployment of electric vehicles. However, optimal placement of fast charging stations (FCS) is a critical concern. Therefore, this research presents a practical approach to identify the optimal location of FCSs using a 30-base network and with the improved Bald Eagle algorithm. The infrastructure of the electricity distribution network is susceptible to changes in the electrification of the transportation sector. Therefore, active power losses, reactive power losses and investment cost are three areas of concern in the deployment of FCSs. In addition, the inclusion of FCSs in the power distribution network increases the energy demand from the power grid. This research recommends the integration of solar-based distributed generation (SDGs) at selected locations in the distribution network to reduce the load of FCSs on the system. Hence, it makes the system self-sustainable and reliable. In addition, the reliability of the distribution system is also analyzed after the deployment of FCSs and SDGs. Six case studies (CS) are proposed for FCS deployment with or without DG integration. As a result, the active power loss increased from 1014.48 kW to 829.68 kW for CS-6
